Default Best/Fastest MPEG Encoder.

Hey guys, I have been using GUIEncode for some time now, but usually it encodes well but with bad aspect ratio and the vid/audio is out of sync.
I was wondering which encoders you guys use, that are good and fast.
WinFF is good but sloww.
Also which dimensions should i put for having a little letterbox.
from - 220 x 176.

I use WinFF or SUPER. SUPER is a bit slow and buggy on Windows Vista.

WinFF is actually just using ffmpeg which is rather fast, but the WinFF defaults for Rockbox are leaning toward higher quality rather than higher speed.

Mencoder and ffmpeg should be able to encode mpeg2 quite fast as long as you pick the right settings for it.

Smile Tmpgenc 4.0 Xpress

Tmpgenc 4.0 Xpress

I use that one and works fine, encodes fast and videos looks awesome. Worths to mention that is not a shitty unstable software. My settings for sansa e200 are:

video: (Constant bitrate) MPG2 @ 300 kbps, 23.96 fps
audio: MP3 48000 @ 96 kbps

For 4:3 = 224*176
For 16:9 = 224*128

A 40 mins is about 120 MB

It even works with subtitles. Try it
