I got rid of them by formatting the player. Make sure it is in MSC mode, so it shows up as another drive inside of Explorer. Then, just right-click and format it. When you are done, turn the player off and then back on. It will re-load the OS and be ready for your files.

Just be sure you copy any files off of the player that you want to save before formatting it, because they will be wiped off of the player when you format it.

I just entered my audio folder and deleted the sample songs. Very easy!
