Default computer doesn't charge U5, recognises as USB device

My computer doesn't charge the battery of my U5. Is there a set of drivers or something I can download to fix this?

Thanks

Try another USB port, preferrably on the back of your computer, or on a powered USB hub. Not all USB ports can provide enough juice to charge devices.

the only thing that happens is the "found new Hardware Wizard comes up" but I don't know where the drivers are. My U5's screen is still blank.

I don't know if the U5 supports MTP mode, but if it does, switch to MSC mode. An option for that should be somewhere in the player's settings menu.

It’s definitely user selectable MSC or MTP, check the manual here, page 35.

My mp3 player is completely out of battery power and the USB is not charging it so how can I make the changes?

Seems like I've got myself in a pickle...

Have you tried an wall/ac charger? I charge my i7 with an old motorola razor charger.

I actually ordered an AC adapter to charge the battery but the mp3 player still has not come to life. Does Cowon warranty cover my mp3 player (I'm in Canada), anyone else had experience with them?

Thanks
