(not sure if this is the right place)
does anyone know of a free program for ripping the video files from dvds? i've tried just copying the file but it's but it's got all kinds of nasty piracy protection, so is it legal? thanks |

I use DVD Decrypter to rip the files then Winff to convert to mpeg (I use Rockbox). Do a search of the forums for DVD Decrypter and you'll find a link to the site you can download it from.

Of course, if you don't own the DVD's, this is illegal.

DVD Decryter. works good, used it to rip a movie for my cousin to watch on his PSP.
I had to convert the movie though. |
