Cool Rockbox Mpeg Video 4:3 Aspect Ratio

Hey all,

I've been using WINFF to convert video files and play them on my Sansa with rockbox. For a while now I've been using the 16:9 aspect ratio for all of my videos but since 16:9 is widescreen the video wasn't taking up a lot of my screen space and it was pretty small. Earlier today I converted a movie using the 4:3 aspect ratio to make the video larger on my screen and noticed that when played on rockbox that the video is a little choppy. i guess that's because the video resolution is a bit larger. I was wondering if it was possible to increase the FPS on the 4:3 aspect ratio video files, and if so what is the limit to the ammount of FPS that Rockbox can currently handle?

You need to edit the presets in winff

I lowered the frame rate to 15 to decrease the choppiness and increased the sound quality.

here is the command that I use in the rockbox 4:3

-acodec mp3 -ab 128 -ar 48000 -vcodec mpeg2video -s 224x176 -b 450kb -strict -1 -r 15

You also should use the attached excel file to input the width and hight of your input video file on the top and it will give you the correct hight to put in this window of Winnff

Like this

round to the nearest even number

This will work for any aspect ratio

Extract the excel file from the zip file.
