Samsung A707 (Sync). Red, and yes, still bearing the Cingular logo. I think they recently discontinued this phone, I find it quite awesome and user-friendly, as I don't really care much about phones. Also very easy to text on...I switched to an LG Shine for a couple days last week and texting i felt like a giant, the keypad was so small...I had to push the button with my fingernail! I'll just stick with this phone for a while, great camera, easy everything, not very slim or pretty, but very scratch-resistant.

Nokia E51... I was a bit apprehensive of S60 but I really do appreciate the features. WiFi is definitely nice too.

I have a good ol' Nokia 6120classic. Must say, I like the 3G speed. This thing flies when browsing the net

Samsung A640, things a tank. I've dropped it down a flight of stairs and then proceeded to have someone accidentally kick it down a hall. Still works... kinda...

None, but I do have a cell phone JAMMER in my cab and often in my pocket. Why? I got tired of listening to people YELL into their phone, and those annoying BEEP! BEEP! walkie talkie things that always seem to be cranked up to 11. Annoy me and one simple flick of a switch eliminates the problem.

Awesome...

I go prepaid for my cell phone service, since I don't need to talk much (only for necessities), and besides, I would waste a ton of money otherwise while possibly getting cancer! Believe me, more recent studies have been getting closer to finding a link between frequent cell phone usage and cancer...imagine if they proved there was a connection? That would change the way we think about communicating, that's for sure.

Well, anyways, I have a Virgin Mobile Super Slice (a limited-edition red variety), so uh...yeah, nothing fancy. I have my Sansa Fuze for music, so no need for MP3 capability...however, I do need to get a new digital camera for photos!

My phone is the Motorola V3 and it is getting worse day by day. I must admit, it is actually stronger that it looks, but still, I'd prefer a phone that has more customizable features and so on...

Been using my Sony-Ericsson TM506 for my music needs lately.. not exactly a hard-core music phone.. and it could use a few additional features, but it sure sounds great and connects instantly to BT-stereo headphones.. it gets the job done and custom EQ is an added boon. Lack of headphone jack (proprietary port BS) is an annoyance, but I can forgive it it's transgressions Need to find a port/headphone adapter. The TM506 has replaced my poor Sammy P2 for portable music listening. (at least for work)

My P2 is in mint condition and works great.. no problems with it.

I like being able to carry just one device.. and the TM506 has RSS feeds, email, IM, GPS, supports Java apps, shoots video, BT2.0 A2DP.. AND is pocketable... not exactly a smart-phone as such, but it's a lot more portable. It's also a 3G phone, though T-mobile hasn't turned on 3G in my area just yet. I've got a 4GB M2 card in it.. and it's really all the music I need for work.

As far as so-called dumb-phones are concerned, we're starting to see a lot of features filter down from the upper tier offerings. Today's lower-end have become what were just a few years ago the latest in smart-phones. This trickle down effect will continue and prices will drop all-around. I've not been a big believer in carrying a full-fledged Internet device, with me at all times.. but this one (SE TM506) has some features that I liked, in a small form factor that made the deal.

It's 3G? Is it T-Mo 3G? AKA, does it support 3G on their stupid AWS band they bought, or does it support the usual 850/1900 3G that all other real GSM carriers use?

Edit: I phonescoop'd it and it turns out it does support the 1700 AWS band by T-Mo. Sweet, I have a free contract upgrade from T-Mo and I might as well take a phone when I re-up my contract. I didn't want their other crappy 3G offerings, and considering it goes live here next month, I might have to consider that phone.

sassafras,
So far, the only downside I've encountered is a tendency to lock up, from time on time using the TeleNav GPS, takes a hard reset.. ie I have to pull the battery out, as it freezes the phone completely.

Without the 3G being enabled here in Oregon yet, the network is painfully slow for Internet browsing.. But then again, no QWERTY keyboard, which does make browsing a bit more difficult anyway, however I didn't buy it for that purpose specifically.

I'll be curious as to how T-mobile fares with it's 3G roll-out, as they are new to that game here in the US. From reports I've read, the network is damn speedy in NYC, but then again.. not many using 3G yet.. and as more begin to populate the network, I'd bet that'll change.. especially with the HTC Android phone release imminent.

Opera Mini seems to be the download of choice for a web browser for this phone, as it beats the pants off of the included NetFront browser. I went prepaid for this one... until the 3G network is up and running in my area. Until then I'm a bit limited and not able to test out Opera Mini and a few other Java apps that will run on this particular SE model, due to my plan.

I finally gave in, I sold ol' Bessy Lu for cold hard cash so I could buy a newer phone.

I got a Nokia 6300. It does everything I need it to do, I just wish it was a little more durable... I dropped it and the metal frame bent slightly, allowing dust to enter and settle on the LCD. Very irritating.

Tobey,

Unfortunately, you've lost the ability to use Bessy Lu's antenna as a pointer for PowerPoint presentations.

Nice looking Nokia.....
