Default automount e200 with wrong user

I'm stumped with a hal automount issue...

Hal (or udev or whatever mounts usb devices automagically) has decided
that my new sandisk sansa mp3 player really belongs to my wife, and it
automounts it with her userid and only she has rw perms:

selene:/media# ls -l /media
celkem 72
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 6 2007-10-18 06:16 cdrom -> cdrom0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2007-10-18 06:16 cdrom0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-04-28 07:04 disk
drwxr-xr-x 3 noriko root 32768 1969-12-31 16:00 disk-1
drwxr-xr-x 7 noriko root 32768 1969-12-31 16:00 disk-2
selene:/media#

I can't for the life of me figure out why it's doing such a thing.
Ideally I want it mounted with group 'music' or something, and 775 perms.

How / where do I set up hal/?? automount permissions?

I am running debian lenny + xfce4. autofs is not set up to handle the player, so this is a hal deal. I don't know enough about hal to really understand what it's doing.

Thanks,

--Yan

Are you logged in as yourself when plugging in the device?

I think I've fallen into a black hole with hal and gnome-mount.... On a multi-head/multi-seat system, there doesn't appear to be a way to select which user gets the device. EWach user runs their own gnome-volume-manager and each tries to grab any new device. It's just a matter of luck I guess which gnome-volume-manager grabs it first.

So I ended up killing one.

Did you have multiple sessions running?
that's really odd. You can also try pmounting from the command line and see if that would keep it under you as well.
