Default Upgraded Sandisk OF from 1.0.2.031 to 1.0.2.165-Now Rockbox won't load

Hello,

I "upgraded" the OF on my E-280R from 1.0.2.031 to 1.0.2.165. Now, Rockbox won't load, yes, even after pressing << first, then the power button.

Searched the forum here and googled the OF versions, but didn't see anything posts. Anyone have some insight here? Also, next time Sandisk asks for an upgrade to the firmware, should I just ignore it?

Regards,

Super61

You just need to reinstall the Rockbox bootloader for the e200R series. I do not have have the Sansa firmware updater installed to my computer, but I do have it on a different computer that I hardly uses.

Much obliged advcomp2019. That leads me to my next question as I'm somewhat new to the Rockbox install.

Are you referring to Step 1 - Windows Installer (sub-steps 1-7) only as listed at Rockbox's site? Thank you again in advance.

You do these steps again with the newer firmware depending on your OS: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/vie...ionFromWindows or http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/vie...ationFromLinux

Once you have rockbox with dual boot on e200r it will always tell you that there is a new update available because the OF.mi4 they have provided is from old firmware so the simple solution is not to upate your rockboxed e200r. Beside sansa updates are bogus anyway

Thanks folks! Got it to work & I'll remember the "bogus" updates. Cheers!

Ok maybe "bogus" wasn't a justified word. What I meant to say is that sansa updates address little if any noticeable bugs.
