Default e280 won't load .rockbox

Ok. I loaded rockbox on a e260 and it works fine. Now, I'm trying to load it on a e280 (Version: 01.02.18A) and it simply won't load. Unzip the zip, .rockbox is in the root, i'm in MSC mode, all that jazz, off, on, nothing but sansaware .. I'm using the manual method, cpchan branch.. I even read the manual

any ideas? Thank you.

Sounds like you did not unzip or put the .rockbox folder in the right area. Are you sure you put the .rockbox in the root? Does the official Rockbox build work or does it do the same thing?

It rather sounds like he didn't install the bootloader.

Download and execute sansapatcher while your e200 is plugged in in MSC Mode.

Things to check:
  • Make sure there is a "." (period/full stop) before "rockbox" in the directory name. Some Windows unarchiver have trouble with this.
  • Make sure you have installed the Rockbox bootloader with sansapatcher.
