Only if you're a first-time user of Google checkout.. I forgot what I paid for my 2GB during Black Friday, but I believe it was $35. I'm surprised the 1GB's aren't $20 by now and the 2GBs at around $35.

I too got the 2gb on black friday for $34.00, but that was a promotion to get them into the market. Now they wana make profits, especially since they've got a good following, remember the average dap's life cycle can be very short and unprofitable. IMO, they have not come down cause they're great little players, gained very good acceptance, still better priced than other daps in that size group, sq is good enough for audiophiles, so why are they going to come down?

Well Sandisks have always been more affordable than Apple's and Creative's players, but I still believe that as nice and feature filled as the Clip is, it still lags behind Apple and Creative's in support and solid feel.

I could be wrong though, because this time around Sandisk has been a LOT better at listening to firmware suggestions than in the past with their other players. We'll see.

SanDisk certainly is not behind in support, as you note--SanDisk has issued 1 or 2 updated firmwares this year for the Clip, and a further update should be out next week. The company has been very responsive to comments and suggestions, and has been standing behind the Clip for needed replacements and the like.

I was a little harsh that day-- looks like Sandisk is in the right direction, firmware wise. Nice update!!

From what I've read elsewhere, it's pretty uncommon for a manf. to add a new codec to an already-introduced player--here, as of last Friday, the Clip now can use Ogg Vorbis files.
