Background: picked up a YP-Z5FQW/XSH at a University unclaimed property auction ($15.50). Had small charge on it and selection of horrible music.
Battery is dead now (no turn on, low battery warning). I'm trying to connect it to PC using a Samsung Data Link cable (for a phone, I figured Samsung may have standardized the pin connections). Cable model is 'PCB113BBE'. Not connecting 'Windows doesn't recognize' and it won't charge, just heats up .Could anyone confirm/kibosh for me that I've got the proper cable for the task? Model # appears on the USB end (little sticker). Thanks! |

they are different. I don't know what Model No. Z5's cable has, but I can 100% assure you the data link cable you have won't connect your Z5F to a pc.
EDIT: now that is one freakishly long sentence I wrote :x |

Just looking at my Z5 cable. No stickers. No numbers. Sorry.
Looking at the Gomadic line, the YP-Z5 uses tip #30. Going thru their list, I didn't see anything else that uses #30. In the iGo system, the Z5 uses tip A83. The only items listed for that tip are the Z5s. Guess you'll have to get a specific cable. Steve |
