Default Playing music in folders, last song ends and player stops.

Hi, i have allmy mp3 collection in folders, so i trasnfer the folders to my p2, but when i listen an album, it just play it, and when the last song ends, it just stops.

Is there any options, like the most of mp3 players, when you finish a folder it just jump to the next one?

Its kind of annoying to need to take out the player and select another folder each time and album ends...

Thanks in advance

Nope but my suggestion would be be a playlist or just start from the beginning of your music and just let play all the way through.

And this in fact is imo P2's major drawback. Had I known this before purchasing the device...

Samsung firmware people - please take that under consideration and provide us "folder to folder" player, it's somewhat more important than Metro area maps, flash games and all of other beautifull but useless shite.

i can go along with this. for all the samsung p2 praising, the device itself doesn't seem to really excel at doing any one thing all that well (i guess besides sound quality even though i personally can't tell much of a difference either way).

I guess you know you don't have to put music in folders. If it is tagged right, the P2 can still sort it by album, artist, genre, etc..

I'll agree though that the P2's music options aren't perfect. To get them there, though, we need a clear definition of perfect, then a way to communicate to them exactly what they could fix to make it perfect.

I KNOW they read this forum. So if you told it to play the music in a folder, what logic should it use to decide what it should play when the folder is done? How will it know when/if all you really wanted to hear was just the music in that folder? Maybe when you touch the PLAY icon it could pop up a window with options? Personally I'd hate that. Maybe a setting. You could set the default action for folder playing to be "stop when all songs are played", "Find the next sequencial folder and play it", or something else entirely.

Again, what logic should the P2 use if you've asked it to play the songs you've put into a folder and it has completed that task?

I think the K3 with Korean firmware had an potion to "shuffle folder", "shuffle all", "play folder", and "play all", so it would not be that hard to implement this on the P2.

I was actually about to post the same issue. This is something that definitely needs to be fixed. As posted before, a play folder/play all option has to be there. Serious flaw !

@4DThinker: Mate don't make me laugh! Every player I had before was able to skip from one folder to another. Maybe I belong to an excinct civilization, but I always preferred playing music like albums instead of having tunes in random order. Your advice works with mp3 and wma only, but what about ogg or aac?

No ifs, ands or buts, it has to play music form folder to folder otherwise I'm sending it back for refund.

I will definitely consider it. In Europe you can get the full refund by 2 weeks after shipping date.

Early MP3 players didn't have any better logic than to just search for all the songs no matter how they were filed, then let you play them in sequence or random. They had a linear index and it was easy to jump to songs in another folder when one folder was exhausted. Now with category sorting the indexing is more complicated and requires a bit more input to know how to proceed through a list. Our current problem is that the P2 doesn't give us any way to add extra instructions except through a playlist. I don't use playlists, so can someone who does and also uses folders tell me if you can add a folder as one item in a playlist, and make a playlist of folders to move sequentially through?
