Samsung UART comms

Has anyone figured out the samsung UART codes? That is, assuming they follow a convention...

I have a YP-K3 and a YP-P2 and I'm getting the hardware to start playing about with the 24 pin interface, but so far I cant find any reference for the UART instruction set.

If they are unknown, short of blasting the device with random sequences is there a good way to test different codes to try and determine the instruction set?
