Default ZUNE & Compatibility

Howdy !
I'm really hunting around & looking for info on the new Zune players. this will be my 1st MP3 player.....I'm an old fart.
I was checking on cnet & their reviews & found a compatible section(chose a player & find compatible on-line music stores) but its not working this morning. My question, I know I can rip my Cd's & put on the Zune but is Zune's Marketplace the only place to get music etc ? Are there other compatible on-line stores for Zune ? Thanks.....Greatdane (S&V forum) turned me onto this site.

Well, I found this site : http://www.izuneaccess.com/index.asp...zuneaccess.com

Unlimited access & downloads.........is this site cool (any bad things etc ?)

sites like the one you posted aren't officially supported by Microsoft. i believe those kind of sites are actually illegal but get away with it by being based in some country that's able to get around the law.

i buy single tracks and whole albums so i'm not up to par on the subscription sites but i recommend itunes, emusic, amazon, & the zune marketplace for digital downloads. mp3's and wma's are the only compatible audio formats supported by the zune. all those sites offer mp3's.

Yes you can rip CDs with either the Zune software or Windows media player. It will also download the album art and song names from the internet and put it in the proper place.

iTunes doesn't offer MP3s; rather, they offer unprotected AAC files, which, although most MP3 players aren't able to play them, the Zune can.

Amazonmp3 is a great legal download service that will work just fine with your zune.
