Default Japanese on Rockbox

I have a Sansa e250 v1 with rockbox. How can I read japanese on it? All japanese characters appear as boxes even after loading all available fonts.

I believe a certain font may be required. Try asking this question on the rockbox forums:

How do get the Japanese translation of Rockbox working?
Players: Zune 30GB (Music), iPod Touch 8GB 2g (Apps/Podcasts), Zune HD 32GB (sold to brother)

Try unifont, I'm pretty sure it supports Japanese characters.

Also Sazanami-Mincho, but I've found that it corrupts the database when used. No idea why ><

But yeah, Unifont does support Japanese, as well as Korean and Chinese. I use the theme "Wisp" and Unifont, as the font fits perfectly and the theme looks nice too

I suppose nimbus14+uming can display Japanese characters too. Not sure about this one tho.

Unifont is a good font that displays Japanese, and fits with many themes. Anyone know if there's a Japanese font that supports font anti-aliasing?
