Well, I did get the installing software pop-up and it said "Rockbox media player" and then "Mass Storage Device." So I had some hope, but got nothing. I plan to keep playing with it, however.

edit: oh snap! It works now! I didnt change anything.. just plugged it in again and its working. SD card reading too.

Can you make me a tarball or other archive of the new build's source?

nplus: It's easier and faster to get download the revision cpchan used for his build (svn co svn://svn.rockbox.org/rockbox/trunk -r16159 rockbox_cpchan) and apply the diff he allready provided.

However, chchans needs to give you the source if you don't accept the way I just told you, since GPL wants him to.

It is a stack overflow. I haven't seen this in the e200 port since the early days. How did you trigger it? You might want to make sure you have the latest version of the bootloader and do a clean reintallation.

Interesting. I have been having the same panic errors with Kugel's build. I actually switched to your build for a couple days to see if it was just the other build and didn't have any during that time. Now I have switched back to Kugel's since it was updated in the hope it would fix the issue, but hasn't.

Read my recent posts on that thread for more info.

So I am not the only one...

Singjies- do you use a theme with album art? What size of bmps do you have on your player if so?

This seems to happen when changing the volume at the start of music.

Temporary Fix: Wait until Sansa goes into backlight and then change the volume.

Good tip, I've seen this twice as well.

There is no anti-skip option on Flash based targets- no moving parts (e.g. hard drive) to cause skipping. As to the squeal, I don't use click key, I will test it out later on when I get back to my device.

I was having this same error (possibly on scroll wheel use in general, not volume?) Then, I checked out my Sansa's free space, and saw I'd only left about 9 megs. Swapped some files and freed about 40 megs, and no more error.

Only bug I get related to backlights is this... if I muck around with the LCD preferences, for some reason, I often get to where my Sansa gets stuck with the backlight off. Everything play and controls, but with the backlight out, then I'm hosed. Again, this is only after I mess with the LCD settings. I haven't tested much to see if it's a specific setting that does or doesn't trigger it. I've just learned to stop messing with them.

Since I'm talking backlight... a feature I'd love to see is this - a backlight setting where, when a new song starts, the backlight comes on for, say 15 seconds. I have a huge collection of music that I load randomly, and I find myself checking out my Sansa on over half the songs in the first few seconds to see what album or band or title it is.

And finally - Mr C, thank you for a great build. I bought the Sansa just for this Rockbox community, and was pleased to find folks like yourself who were so generous with your efforts.

(Maybe someday, I'll try working on the "display embedded jpg album art" situation. Anyone know if there's any active work towards it at the moment?)

Thanks,

Jon

Charles

I've seen this on my Sansa with Kugel's build as well.....trying yours now....I started getting problems right after I tried creating some new playlists....

On another note, how do I know if I have the latest bootloader?

The bootloader at http://download.rockbox.org/bootload...patcher/win32/

seems it was last updated in October 2007. So since I just started Rockboxin' this winter, I should be using the latest bootloader, correct?
