I actually did this before CES, so I never meant to do that. Also, I made the device named "M10" for multimedia, but iriver had "map" in mind when making the M20...

I have had a number of projects, here is the neoKLASSIC: http://www.productdesignforums.com/i...showtopic=7346

It is an LG Cyon phone, inspired by Korean culture. I'm also working on a project called Samsung "Espresso", which is a mobile computing solution. But currently, I am focussed on a design competition.
Ah, ok. Though I can't find a font that looks like yours called Circle. Guess the typographer should have used a more distinctive name. Is it the font you used on the interface? Reminds me of Myriad or Frutiger, but I somehow don't think they are the one you used.
lol, still not bad. And you know how to do that too.

Aye, saw the neoKLASSIC already, I like that one more Hm... I think my phone player could be a LG...

I'm curious how long does it take you to do the Photoshop rendering?

Kadajawi,

I can't recall if I used Malgun Gothic or Circle for the interface. It took me 2 months to do the neoKLASSIC (was on and off it), and the M10 took 3 days. I've been getting better and better with each project, which you can probably tell from the M10 vs neoKLASSIC. The Espresso will be leagues ahead of the neoKLASSIC, so I hope you'll look forward to it.

Sure I'm looking forward to it Can't decide what I will do next (another phone or some educational tool?), but first I have to finish my current projects and maybe create a website. I think neoKLASSIC was more distinctive, the M10 is what I would expect from iRiver and its really sleek, but it's, hm, nothing really new designwise, which neoKLASSIC was.
I still think you should start with 3D applications as the next step, you would have much more freedom in creating forms there. I've started with 3D modelling a year ago, it really isn't that hard (ok, to master it maybe). And it's a useful skill. After modelling you just set up shots like in photography, just with more freedom to place lights and in finding camera angles.

Wow, that's a really great poster, it looks very realistic and as if it's an actual ad for iRiver. Great job.

i dunno about this. it looks like much of what other people did and this one doesnt really have much pictures. BUT if a 15 y.o did this without help...

what "he" did on the other forum was by far better than this one imo

Hm... the idea of big screen no buttons is nothing new, several people did that. But the execution is very good and (to me) professional, the presentation rocks, the interface is well done and makes sense. Not caring about how old he is, this was the best presentation hands down. It's closest to what a big company would show on its product page, and I don't see any flaw like bad rendering, bad choice of fonts, etc. Best design... hm, I don't know, it's nice and sleek, but I like my stuff too And I prefer neoKLASSIC.

Though I do think that he had quite an advantage by being more experienced than all of the others (seems to me that way anyway).

Congrats! You should definitely make tutorials in your spare time or something.

What program did you use? And did you make the whole thing from scratch? Or was there some kind of base image?
