The MET400 same as the T400?

Any difference on the two products?

Having a hard time finding an answer for this, suffice to say Amazon.com is selling the Toshiba Gigabeat MET400 and not just the Toshiba Gigabeat T400.

Jack4L, this product data sheet from Toshiba lists the T400s as MET400s. They're the same: MET400 is the "part number".

the back of my t400 says met400 so Almoxil is correct they are the same

Ahh thanks, had found that but couldn't open it at work.

Purchasing the player for my uncles 50th birthday, would be his first, and this seems to be promising. Well, family is pooling in for the purchase, not just me. He's somewhat of an audiophile, but hasn't been keeping up with the new stuff. So I thought I would find somthing suited for him. He had an iPod mini of all things once, because it was rated 5 stars on a well known finnish tech magazine. He quickly sold it away. Must have scared his view of MP3 players, as he hasn't gotten one afterwards.

Was almost going to go for a iAudio 7, but the whole touch sensitive thing just wouldn't be for him I'd figure. Especialy after hearing his rants about the whole iPod click wheel.

Anyway, going to pair the T400 with a custom built CMOY headphone amp from a friend of a friend who makes them aswell as a pair of Altec Lansing im716 IEMs that I had gotten for a bargain at 55$

Should be pretty good for the guy, all in all a happy 50th birthday for sure.

... now to just figure out how to get the player before may.

According to Enzo, the T400 has awesome sound-quality. So, it should be among the top picks for "audiophile-grade" portable players (along with Cowon and Sony players).

Yes, the Met400 is the same as T400. I too got mine at Amazon.com and love the sound of this thing. I'm sure it beats just about anything out there.
