Default New Sony Players?

Was wondering if Sony would release new Sony MP3 players early-ish next year... Will they announce new players at CES 2008 in January?

I doubt that. Current sony players haven't been long enough in the market - less than 1 year.

What you could expect would be a new firmware for both S610 and A810

They have not been pushing the players they released in late August. I don't think they will release anything new. Unless they go with a 16 or 30 gig?

Then they would get too expensive at the beginning.

Sony is not a major flash memory developer.

A 16GB S610 or A810 sounds very possible. I am guessing late 2008 if that ever happens.

neither are apple or creative. I am sure sony could put out a 16gb player at the $249-$200 range. 16gig versions of the 810/610 are good bets for CES as well as maybe a larger screen sony player like the ones they have in china and japan. I'm sure Sony will have at least something new to show at CES even if its not immediately released

Ok, so CES came and went and no 16 gig mp3 players from sony. There is a one plausible reason for this, sony didn't want the havoc at CES take any shine away from a new player or players debut. So it might mean a separate show altogether for a new player(s).

Sony has a 16 gig memory stick duo coming in march, so they have 16 gig flash available and use it on their 900 series in Japan. I wouldn't bet on 32 gig from sony in an mp3 player, with 16 gb probably being the biggest, with size ranging from 4-16.

Question is, will it be a completely new player or the 900 series with no tv on it? if it's new, then will it be a touch screen? Again all bets are on. :P

The NWZ-A82x series just hit the FCC, link to fcc website

3 models, 826 (4GB) 828 (8GB) 829 (16GB), with bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

no news of when it will be released, picture shows only rear, with reset button on the back of the unit and the headphone jack on the side of the unit (compared to bottom of the unit for A81x series. Here's hoping that they increased codec support, and added on the go playlists. stay tuned.

Man, i knew that as soon as i got the a818 there would be information about a 16gb model. Oh well, maybe i'll manage with the 8gb for few years and then upgrade to 64gb model
