Hi there,
I am hoping that one of you kind souls will point me in the right direction. My wife has a Z5 which was working perfectly for about 3 months. Recently the device appears to have wiped itself. When you connect it to any computer it will only connect in USB mode regardless whether any buttons are held in. UMS mode is off. On the PC it is not seen as a drive. The device will not connect in MTP mode. The PC does not even recognise that a the Mp3 player is connected, but it looks like the bettery is charging. Also, is you goto capacity, then you can see that there are files on it, as it claims that there is only 800MB free, but songs, albums and artists all have 0 against them! (its the 2GB model). If you go to Version, it jumps back to to the main menu with Music highlighted. I have tried the hard reset, I have tried connecting it to different PC's, all Windows XP SP2, fully patched. Either reply back to this post or email me at carl.hipkissATgmailDOTcom Regards and thanks in advance Carl. |

try connecting it to your computer before turning on your computer
XP should do some disk check when starting up and your files should be recovered not 100% sure though |
