Default MicroSDHC... how to get files on?

I asked this in the Accessories forum but maybe this is a better place.

So I bought a 4GB MicroSDHC card for my e270. When running Rockbox, it sees the card just fine. However, when I connect player to PC via USB, the machine sees the drive but not the card. It insists there's nothing in the drive.

Does this mean that when it comes to getting files onto the card, I'm screwed until USB is finished in Rockbox?

You can use a card reader if you have one, they are cheap, if you don't have one.

I think I do have one around here somewhere but it's an older multi-card reader. Do you suppose it'll work with the MicroSDHC card shoved inside the SD-size adaptor it came with?

Assuming it supports SDHC, yes.

When you connect your Sansa to your Pc, it will use the OF (USB is not implemented yet under Rockbox). OF does NOT support SDHC: thatīs why you donīt see the card using your Sansa as a card reader.
You will need a card reader that support SDHC, i think if your reader donīt say that support SDHC it wonīt do. Only newer card reader support it.

Thanks for the comments, all. I bit the bullet yesterday and picked up a SanDisk card reader that supports MicroSDHC. Worked like a charm and the 4GB card is now well stocked with tunes (40+ CDs worth, roughly).

It's just as well that I bought it; my phone has a 2GB MicroSD card with music and photos. This reader will let me move stuff on/off that as well.

I believe you could put music on the main sansa memory and copy the files in Rockbox to the SDHC card as well; although it is a lot slower.

Yep, you're right. Never thought of that. It would be a tedious workaround, though.

If you throw enough money at problems, they eventually roll over and play dead. At this point in my life, I have more money than time, which is not to say that I have much money. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You could put it all in one folder and just copy the folder over, in Rockbox.
