Knowing that the Sansa Base Station has other features ....
I wonder if the audio quality coming from the Connect plugged into the base station is better than the audio quality coming from the earphone jack? |

I don't know about the sound quality of the Sansa (just ordered mine), but in one review someone commented that the dock does have a small amp.
By contrast, the Logitech Wireless Music System did not include this feature, and it was a major Con for most people. My point being, an amp will send a cleaner sound than a system with no amp. @PromisedPlanet- Is the SQ from the jack that bad? |

Sounds fine with earphones ;-) ... but I also use my Connect plugged into an auxiliary input of a boombox, every now and then.
To my ears, it sounded slightly muddled and lacking in high-end, no matter what I did with the equalizer. This is in comparison to other audio sources (CD players, satellite radio, even a laptop) that I've plugged into the boombox aux jack. Not *really* bad ... I'm just curious as to whether it might be better coming from the base station. |

This is one of the comments from abi's review of the base station: "In my experience, the audio connection via the dock is better than going through the headphone jack, at least if you have an AUX input in your car. By better I mean vastly superior. It's louder, cleaner, and punchier. The headphone jack is a poor substitute for a line level output." I personnally wouldn't use it for my truck, but the results should be the same for home audio. Cool factor aside, the amp is the selling point for me. I just ordered mine yesterday for $38 from Buy.com with free ship and first time Google checkout. ![]() Free shipping is also offered on the iClear case $15. BTW- Finally got my Connect last night---LOVE IT

Just got the Base Station and it's not working with the Connect.
![]() The remote doesn't work at all, and when the Sansa is in the dock, the volume automatically defaults all the way up, and cannot be turned down. I've tried everything, firmware upgrade, resets, Recovery Tool, nothing worked. The only thing I haven't tried is a new battery in the remote, but before I run out and get one, can anyone confirm whether or not they can adjust the volume manually on the Sansa while it is in the dock? I can't with mine, so I assume the base station is defective.
