Any workaround for this? I've never ran into a problem in the past with previous players, including the Zen Stone 2GB player. The clip isn't recognized at all by my PC. The clip does look like it' son and charging, but it's actually just draining the battery and that's it.

What OS are you running? Have you tried MSC mode on the Clip?

Since you have SP1, could you update to SP2 with WMP11? If not, why not try this: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=21296.

On the Clip's box, it says under minimum system requirements, "USB 2.0 high-power port required for Hi-Speed transfer and charging." I'm not sure whether that implies that you can't transfer with 1.1, but it sure sounds like you can't charge off 1.1. In either case, make sure that if your PC has high-power and low-power ports, have your Clip plugged into the former.
Also, the cable supplied with the Clip is a "USB 2.0 transfer cable." I'm not sure (again) whether there are physical differences between a 2.0 cable and a 1.1 cable. |

After I installed the included software (Rhapsody), my PC now auto-detects the Sansa clip in MTP mode. I updated to service pack 2 before hand, but that didn't do anything to solve the problem. I still don't think it's actually charging the battery while connected, but at least it's picking up the Sansa and I can transfer songs now in MTP mode. I connected it to my HD-DVD player's USB port and it does charge the battery off of that, so I guess that or my XBox 360 will have to serve as the battery charger.
