My Gigabeat won't turn on

ok. i see that some of you are having the same problem with the toshiba gigabeat MES30V with it not turning on. i Haven't had a problem before. My friend gave me his and he had no problem with it. I plugged it in to charge it because it had been dead for a few days. it worked for about 3 minutes then shut off. I thought hey maybe one end wasn't plugged in but i went home to plug it in and it wouldn't turn on... if you guys know what the problem is please let me know.
