Cowon D2 - Image Loading time

I have a Cowon D2(4GB) with 2.50 firmware. I am seeing noticeable delay(3-4 secs) in loading photos for viewing. This delay is not there during slideshow. Is it possible to increase the image loading time ?

if the images are in a certain res. then surely there'll be a delay. the D2 processes to make the images fit the screen. other then that it's the Firmware or the image.
