I have no clue as to what good headphones are, I saw the sticky but there are so many options I don't really know what to get.
Basically, I need noise-cancelling in-ear headphones with atleast decent sound , for as cheap as possible =D I'm using a Creative ZV+ atm. Thanks |

What kind of music do you listen to (except blues)? Do you like bass, do you like clarity/precision, are vocals important to you, ... ?

I listen to hard rock, alternative rock, blues, indie and slow rock, etc.
For me, bass seems important since I listen to music while I work out, so I need to get pumped =D. However, I don't want so much bass that it distorts my music or doesn't sound good with certain genres. I've been looking around and I've found so far: JVC Marshmallows (Do these look wierd when you wear them?) Sennheiser CX300s How are these? |

They're both nice for the price, I would say. Both have an excessive amount of bass. I don't have much experience with the FX33, but the CX300 certainly don't distort - they just sound recessed in the midrange and have a bit sibilant treble.
You won't find much better ones in the $20-40 price class, but for $60 you could get the MylarOne XB, which is several leagues above both the JVC and Senn. Check the headphone forum, there are several threads about the Mylars, if you're interested.

Most people agree that the cx300 have better SQ (me included)
Comfort is much more a personal preferance but no one i know finds the cx300 uncomfortable wheras I found that the foamy inserts on the marshmallows unpleasant (they feel weird in your ears) so replaced them with rubber ones, like on the cx300. Overall, they cost a bit more, but CX300 FTW. (be carefull of fakes tho) |

There's so many auctions for these on EBay. I guess I'll just look at the US ones:

I just got a pair of JVC HAFX-55 and they're pretty amazing. They're definitely better than the mallows but I'm not sure if they're better than the Senns.
