Help Confused on what death of Atrac means?

I have a NW-S203F player, now with the closing of the Connect store and Sony giving up on Atrac is it possible to use my player with any other service or format.

The Sony FAQ was less than clear, from what I can gather my only other option is DRM-free music, assuming I can find any.

Can the players firmware be changed? If so, is there any firmware out there.

Thanks in advance for the help

The death of ATRAC means the end of the road for ATRAC, SonicStage, and Connect. I think you're boned man, I don't see a single Sony player under any of the compatibility lists under Rhapsody, Yahoo! Music, or Napster; unless you can get .mp3 files.

Yep, and I don't see Sony releasing a firmware update either. Man they suck

Either way, you'll be fine sticking with SS 4.3, not like they are going to come to your house and delete SS from every HDD out there.... if you are a vivid music service downloader, then you might want to pick up a new Sony Walkman NWZ player.
