Default A Word From The abi>> Site Designer

Hey all,
This is Eric from WeHaventTheTime. I just wanted to say thanks for all the compliments. I'm glad to hear that most everyone is down with the new digs. There was a lot of pressure not to disappoint the ABi faithful. I know change can be a scary thing. That's why I only pay with plastic.

The update was a little rough because as Enzo said, not only did we update the look, but we upgraded to MovableType 4. And no matter how much you test in a controlled environment, once a site goes live, there will always be surprises. Which brings me to my next topic...

Thank you to everyone for their patience while we are working on some of these new site "features" (read: bugs). The horizontal scrolling for users at 1024x768 resolution should be fixed for everyone except IE7 users. MovableType may be spitting out some invalid markup which is freaking out IE7. The issue should be completely resolved very soon.

You're probably also noticing some janky looking pages in the forums... those will also be taken care of as soon as possible. We made some last minute additions and changes (big mistake) to the templates and things really got out of hand fast. I mean it jumped up a notch. There were horses, and a man on fire, and Enzo killed a guy with a trident! I did my best to rectify the issues, but working on a live site (bigger mistake) is like a carnival - it's in tents. After things didn't go so well, I tried reverting the template files from memory (biggest mistake), but i couldn't remember it exactly.

Anyway to make a long post longer, we're all busting our butts to get things back in order. If you notice any new "features," holler at Enzo and then he'll holler at me, and I'll holler at my markup until it gets itself in line. Thanks again!

I am McLovin,
Eric

Site designer, eh? You know, someone might take issue with that, CODE NINJA.

Also, puns and homonyms don't often work as well in text forums (change/change, in tents/intense).

I hope everyone enjoys the new site.

Love,
Christopher!

I can agree with that - I didn't even think of in tents being intense, just some odd thought from Eric.

Also, Search is still partially messed up - http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...earchid=544318 (or if that doesn't work, search for 'test', and select to view results as posts.)

On 1024x768 on Firefox/Ubuntu, the horizontal scrollbar still remains. I think it's because of some white block to the left of the navigation menu thing. Also, the message box in the advanced reply goes outside the lines. Oh, and the "Topic Review (Newest First)" thing doesn't line up properly (it seems to be lining up with the Reply to thread "box" versus the actual replies below.

I think that's all

EDIT: Nope - not quite all. On links with the underline below them (from the forum index, the subforums and usernames) if you have the mouse in the right spot, it seems to continuously switch between the mouse arrow and the 'hand' -

Yeah... thanks Christopher! but I didn't expect anyone to get the "in tents" comment. It's a brand new saying that I made up. Only like 3 people ever heard it before I wrote it here. It's only a matter of time before I make "[something] is like a carnival - it's in tents!" happen. And believe me, it's going to happen. Rappers will be rapping it, and white trash will get it tattooed across their necks, backs and forearms (and possibly stomachs).

Don't be jealous of my creativity. One day you'll have mad skillz too.

Word to yer moms,
Eric
