Apple came out with 8gb nano but why doesn't samsung make 8gb flash mp3 player? Remember nano uses samsung's flash memory. Is it becuase of the price? 8gb nano is $350 I think..

$250, but close enough. Samsung has never been on top of the market, nor ones to respond the minute something happens. However, I would expect one in the upcoming months.

Samsung has been releasing mp3 players pretty quickly lately.. with the K5 and the T9, being notable releases.. I wouldn't be surprised to see them up the cap. to 8GB pretty soon as Rockin_Amigo14 says. Samsung seems to be getting into the swing of things in the US market of late and hopefully we'll see some great things coming.
Since they already have the distribution with their other products in BB, Circuit City and other bricks and mortar stores.. they should be quick to market and they have been proving that just recently. I'd hope that Enzo Ten does a review of his newly acquired T9 soon.....

Samsung manufactures its own flash drives/components, like Sansa and Apple. They can afford to sell greater capacity flash daps cheaper than some other brands like iaudio or trekstor. So they probably will come out with it eventually in the future lol.

An 8GB T9B is available in Europe (and I would assume Asia), but as far as I know the US is yet to receive an 8GB model to date.

The 8GB T9 Bluetooth model is YP-T9JBCB/XET and as stated before, it's been on the market in Germany for a month or so now. The 8GB unit only comes in Bluetooth. Samsung U.S. informed me that this specific model is for foreign markets and they were not aware of any plans to release it to the U.S. Of course, I informed them that Samsung did anounce that the Bluetooth model would be heading to the U.S. at the same time they annouced the K3 but did not commit to what the memory size would be on this released unit. They stated that they were not aware of this announcement and had no further information.
So, if you want a 8GB unit, you could get one from Germany or wait and see if it comes to the U.S. at some later date. Eventually, a 8GB K3 should hit the market. I'll take a guess and say that the K3 will be the first Samsung to reach the 8GB limit in the states and we will never see the 8GB T9JBCB or any Bluetooth unit in the U.S. |

Well, it looks like we may actually get the 4gb Bluetooth version of the T9 because it is on Samsung USA's site under the "ICES 2007 T9B" heading (way back from Jan 07)
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/t...ype=mp3players# Still no 8gb version for US customers. Since the P2, S5, and T10 were not announce on the US site, I don't think they're coming here any time soon. They were announced in the UK (as well as S. Korea) so if you're heading in that direction or live there, pick one up when it arrives. |
