j70 firmware upgrade!

how do you install yh j70 firmware upgrade! Trying to install, but file just sitting on files on player, not upgrading. Offshore at moment & do not have my user manual. Also my home computer most of the time does not recognise the player or just freezes. Any body got any advice please.

ZC, it seems to be a Samsung. Found this article.

Edit: there are two models for this designation in Samsung's website: YP-J70JLB/XAC and YP-J70JLW/XAA.

I just downloaded the manual for the YH-J70, and page 71 says that you have to copy the firmware file (the bin file inside the downloaded zip file) to the DATA folder. After, disconnect the player from the USB port, turn the player off and on again. If everything is done right, the firmware will be updated and the player will turn off automatically.

How to Firmware upgrade:

1. Download ver. firmware on PC.
2. Connect YH-J70 to PC.
3. Open USB Driver of YH-J70.
4. Select downloaded firmware and copy it into YH-J70 to root directory. Must be unziped bin file.
5. Remove YH-J70 from PC safely.
6. Turn YH-J70 on after plugging the charger to the power outlet to prevent power shortage [!!must be!!].
7. It shows ''Firmware Upgrading'' while upgrading and takes 2-3 minutes to finish upgrading.
8. After finishing, press MENU button and go to 08 setting--> system--> system info-->version.

I can't speak about piacek's post; the information I posted came straight from the user's manual of the player. Anyway, you can try both methods and see what works for you.

Are there any newer YH J70 firmware upgrades than 2.07 version. Cant' keep up with technology. Are ther any speakers for Samsung YH J70. Cheers, Jimmy.

Hi, only I wanted know what version you installed if exist another high, because I've same player with ver.2.07. Up version still doesn't exist. Last time I bought docking cradle and also I searching where I can purchase remote controller for this player. I know, it exist but is including for korean model. Speakers for YH-J70 also no exist, if you conect any speakers the volume is too low, the 3.5mm stereo jack is only for earphones or headphones but no for speakers, maybe set for PC who has amplifier.
