Sansa c150 firmware help

After putting music on my mp3 player using Windows Media Player, it stopped working. The screen is dark with nothing on it, it will not turn on and nothing happens when I connect it to my computer. I have tried 4 different batteries in it, and still nothing. After searching the internet, I found the firmware for the c140, 150 and tried to install that to fix it. I followed all the directions carefully, and after clicking "Update", the program displays a message that it failed to update and the mp3 player remains unresponsive. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
