Talking Vision M or W- how bad would jogging be?

Hi! I was just informed by a very helpful poster that the HD shock factor would be the same in the M or the W....so now I'm wondering- has anyone ran/jogged with either of these?

I'm in no way a marathon runner, but I do like to run for 15min/30min a morning during summer, and I would like to take my Mp3 player with me. I also work very active jobs, and need a player that I won't be scared to carry around.

Can anyone vouch for the reliability/durability of these players? Although I know I'd be taking a risk in running with either, in all reality, how bad is the risk? Is this damage over time, or a "it'll happen or it won't" sudden thing?

Again, thanks for the patient reviews whilst I sort out my questions and count up my money

It is completely possible to jog with a hard drive player and never experience any problems, plenty of people do that but there is always the risk something can happen, and if it was me, I wouldn't take the chance, not when there is a risk free alternative (in terms of shock as a cause of damage). I would suggest buying a cheap flash player to run with, and using the the M or W at other times. Or, if not that, then buying a top of the line flash player, rather than an M or W, so you can be confident using it in any situation. Other than the size of the memory, flash players are at the point where you can almost match the functions of the M, or even W, with flash players like the Cowon D2, Sansa View or iriver Clix2.

Thank you for the advice! I did consider buying a flash player, but really, having all of my music with me at once is much more important to me. I think that the risk of damage at this point is sounding like a better alternitive than having to plug in my Mp3 player every night to dump and re-fuel on music, like I know I would do. (lol, I'm compulsive like that) I really appreciate you nameing those models, though- I will keep them in mind in case I decide to go that route in the future.

It would be potentially harming your HDD cause HDDs are not made for jogging, running, the like. However, a couple times of jogging or working out with it will not kill your player instantly.

If you want to use something for jogging, use a flash drive based player. EX: Sansa Express, Creative Zen V Plus, etc.

MP3 player-less. Waiting till summer for choices on players. Suggestions?
