yeah that would be awesome, it would be even better perhaps if it could be mapped to the rec button (which isn't used except when entering text) and had as function to turn the lcd off or on, so when changing the volume or song the lcd isn't activated, that would save heaps of battery., but i guess the original flyspray request is a lot easier to implement, still would be awesome if this were possible

PS: a really wild suggestion would be to make the rec button entirely customizable meaning some sort of a shortcut button, something that's a long time item in the 'suggestions for firmware x.xx.xx

Additional comments about closing: it would be nice on all targets, but the code doesnt really allow it to work, also its settings bloat.

this just means they won't put it in the svn, but people are still allowed to make their own patches and include it in builds like those found on this forum

It's so damn annoying! I get "white screens of death" every 2 minutes now. I can't even manage to play a whole Bubbles level. What is wrong with the new builds? Has somebody else experience this behaviour? The 19 May build worked perfectly.

When do you get it? Is there a pattern to it? I use mine for hours (music) with no problems.

I get it while playing games (Bubbles or Brickmania without music). I know that you can using so much to music because I didn't have any problems until the May 25 build. The May 26 makes things even worse.

I had this problem too, the current SVNs are broken in a way.
You need to do this:
-reinstall Rockbox
-create an empty config.cfg in the root of the Sansa (like M:\config.cfg)
-start in Rockbox
-make your changes in the settings, but REBOOT after each change
-build your database, and REBOOT after the normal reboot
-play 2-3 seconds of music and REBOOT before any abort error occurs.

You need to do alot of reboots!

After this your crashes should be gone forever, at least this helped me alot!!

Yea, after the last reboot no more data aborts should occur.

I didn't get one since I've done this =)

It enables the "Pitch Screen" for the Sansa, ie. change the pitch (speed) of the playback.

I removed the .Rockbox folder and installed May 28 build...

Now, when I go to try and view a photo, I get a "PANIC Stkov sd"

I just went quickly though a menu and I get the same PANIC!

I don't know if sd is "SD" -- but I do NOT have a mini-sd card.

Strange, and you don't have a MicroSD inserted? I have no problems in viewing jpeg's (no MicroSD), and I tried scroll through several menus at high speed with no problems. I am stumped as to why some people like you are having problems with the jpeg viewer. Have you tried a hard shutdown?

As in, holding down the power button until shutdown? I had to do that to get rid of the PANIC.

I don't even own a MicroSD... and that 'menu scrolling' PANIC wasn't even in the Picture viewer menu.

One "unique" thing, is that I used Sansapatcher to load the 'reverse bootloader', so that Sansa is the default. I'm using your firmware, with the font pack from the Rockbox website -- with the 8.x13B font selected...
Hmmm... I just got an error after changing to a smaller font... but I can't reproduce it.. The PANICs seem to happen at 'random' times...
Previously, it wasn't PANICs that I was getting.

Also, when in the photo listing, pressing the middle button does nothing -- I don't get a PANIC or anything... (Is that how I'm supposed to select a picture to view?)
