Files Disappeared & Can't Update Firmware

This T9 would have to be THE most frustrating gadget I have purchased in a long while.

1. I can't upgrade the firmware as stated in the forum because I can't copy files to the data directory. When I try to do this it shows a 'no smoking sign' thingy! The T9 shows up as a media device in Explorer. Prior to upgrading the FW from 1.24 to 1.27 it just showed up as a USB drive and I was able to copy files as has been mentioned on the forum.

2. I managed to load about 3GB worth of music onto the player. I have happily been able to sync and update the music as neccessary until now! Now I cannot see my music files in windows explorer, SMS, or WMP! They are still on the device as I can still play them. When viewing the T9 through SMS it tells me there is 3GB used, but doesn't display any of the files.

I am getting ready to bin this device - please help if you can.
