Vista public beta has been available for some time. You just have to go to the website and fill out a form. Desktop threads are fun, atrax. Lighten up a bit - so many of your posts are so...intense.

Here's my desktop. I like simple:

Today is the last day... Microsoft's quota for beta testers is full. So hurry.

BTW: I like Vista. I'm still running Win2K, because it's no-nonsense and rock-solid, compared to XP, but Vista seems nice, despite all the gimmicks. Been running it on my secondary machine for 2 months now.

It's not vista , I was ganna post another pic but got mixed up. The program is called Sysdm an its just a window that displays a look a like vista properties.

I've never been a fan of desktop icons..all programs are off of the start menu, with a few tray icons for quick access...

Well, there's always Google or Yahoo maps that lets you stick location markers into a map... but not for a desktop background, unfortunately.

I resized it, since 1920x1200 isn't exactly forum friendly, but here ya are:



If you're curious...the monitor I have is a Dell 2407WFP 24" widescreen monitor.

Oh, and the picture on that website...that's my graphics card, nVidia 7950GX2.

Woah, just noticed that that desktop screenshot was prior to actually buying the nVidia 7950GX2...hence the ATI icon in the system tray (I upgraded from an ATI X1900XT.)
