Default Good Cradle-like devices?

So I asked for help with this post: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...572#post578572

But haven't gotten any answers so I'm going more general. Can I get some recommendations for a good cradle-like speaker/radio system that uses an aux jack? As I have the Cowon J3, cradles themselves are not an option, but I still want something that I can easily jack into.

1) Wrap around ear buds: I want something with good bass and general sound. I'd also prefer them to be wrap around because it annoys me to no end when they pop out while walking/running.

2) Cradle-like device: I know that the J3 is incompatible with actual cradle stereos, but does anyone know of a good desk cradle-like device with an Aux port (or maybe even a more elegant solution)?

Thanks in advance.

Many new portable stereos (speaker/radio system, as you say) have auxiliary jacks you just have to look at the specs. The links below should give you ideas, but to get more specific recommendations from members you should include a budget and where you live because some recommendations might not be available in your area (country). My son has a sony RDP X50ip AM/FM cradle desktop unit that has a cover for the cradle so you can use non-ipod DAPs via the headphone out jack, it even included a 3.5mm male to male inter connect cable. The cradle cover allows you to still keep your DAP in the cradle.

I don’t understand what you mean by “wrap around ear buds,” please be more specific, do you mean something like this?

BTW, welcome to abi

For the wrap-arounds, something like this:

http://uclaradio.com/2010/05/04/phil...hs8000-review/

But obviously not Phillips because they suck. My budget for the ear phones is around $30 and for the cradle it would be around $60 (though I guess I could go up to $80 or so).

I checked out that Sony speaker. No where in any of the descriptions does it talk about non-iPod compatibility. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I just wish I could research this a bit better, as the J3, because of the design, leaves little room for adaptability. You pointed out this speaker, but how would I go about seeing ALL of the options available?

And thanks for the welcome

If you look at buying ear guides as well, you could look at more iem's in the 30.00 price range or below. I'd look at some of of the JVC's or Mee iem's, I'm sure some members will recommend a few... As far as the unit I mentioned if you google the specs of it, they state "Audio in - Connect your digital music player and play MP3s (cable supplied)."

I have the iMainGo X speakers and love them. There are two models for mp3 players (the iMainGo X and iMainGo 2 depends on your budget). Both are solid speaker systems with big sound. Also, it doubles as a carrying case that protects your device, which I love. It's versatile and works with many other products, including Kindle, notebooks and portable gaming devices. I brought mine camping this weekend and it was great. You can also plug in headphones as well. I work with them and their products are pretty impressive out of all the portable speakers I've used throughout the years. Check it out on Amazon (where there are also some pretty great reviews): http://amzn.to/ritvtj.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
