I think Wal-Mart's house brand Great Value has stacked chips.

I wonder if this is available in Canada? Guess I'll go to the grocery stores.

Lestatar: do you own Pringles stock or something? Sheesh, Syndrome is gonna have to buy cases of Pringles to do this testing. Is the sound better with stale or fresh Pringles? Does the music sound spicier with Jalapeno Pringles? What difference does the snack size package produce? I could go on all day.

Did anybody actually get these Pringles speakers?

Just wondering, because the offer has just surfaced in Canada. Not that I eat Pringles very often, but hey it's a cheap toy to play with (and probably then throw out).

Yes, I ordered a set of the speakers as I already had the empty cans and decided I might as well order a speaker considering they were free.

I doubt the design will be any different if you order from the US or UK? (I live in the UK.)

The speakers whilst being a bit tinny sounding and have low bass are of a good standard (for free), the speaker has no volume control, with the MP3 player or input devices volume dial working to control the speakers volume instead. The speaker also requires 3 AA batteries for power, which to my surprise a set were supplied in the package.

The only problem I have found is that after clipping the speaker onto an empty can that it seems to be able to remove it, I will most likely have to break/destroy the can. (I haven't tried this yet.) The battery compartment is inside the can which means removing to replace the batteries. EDIT: I have found that after using the speaker for a short while, and carefully clipping onto different or the same can a few times that it is now, although a good fit MUCH easier to remove and leaves the empty can intact and ready for use with the speaker again.

If anyone is interested, I can answer any more questions or take some photos if you would like.

I just love it! In seems you're saying that to continue using your "free" speaker you have to tear it apart and put it into a new Pringles can. Pretty much guarantees as long as you use their speakers you'll buy their product doesn't it?

Yeah, the inventive or industrious would find a work around but it seems the whole concept is it's something to listen to when you're not worrying about top quality or a hassle. Considering I lost a decent quality Fuze dock on a trip to the beach these would have been a nice substitute. When you're at a picnic SQ isn't the top priority most the time anyway. If it's loud enough, it's good enough has been my experience.

I have just found that if your careful, it is possible to remove it from the can and reuse the old one. (When the speaker is new it seems harder to attach and deattach to an empty can.) I have just tried it and managed to get it off the can unharmed and is now easy to attach and deattach! it was hard enough to clip on at first though!

I have attached a few photos, I consider the speaker quite good for the price, being that it is free. Although most other speakers beat the Pringles in terms of the quality of sound, I still prefer my X-Mini V2 portable speaker.

On the loud enough is good enough side for a small outdoor get together concept. Do you think one of these setups could give out enough relatively undistorted volume for say, eight people spread out on beach towels? A speaker that size really can't sound great but if it can give off enough volume to provide a background ambiance that would be a big plus.

Thanks thatgta3guy. I don't really consider this a free speaker. I gotta buy 4 cans (I think) of Pringles to get it. Since I don't normally buy Pringles, there is a cost attached.

Those are pretty cool, thanks for the pictures! They'd make a fun conversation piece at the beach for sure. I don't know if I'd feel all that comfortable being a booming pringles ad at the beach but it's a cool concept. I imagine there are some DIY applications for that little speaker.
