Help Clip Plus Audio File Resume

I just ordered a Clip+ (and some 16 GB microsd cards), then realized I had failed to make a crucial determination.

Can the unit remember its position in each audio file and later resume?

I have many audio books (some of the public domain are in MP3 format).

[Actually, I never listen to music. I have never put any music on any device, including the 32 GB ipod I had stolen (I don't see the appeal).]

If the Clip+ cannot resume play of an audio file, it is useless to me.

Feedback appreciated.

No worries, the Clip+ remembers its place in a file for all audiobooks and gives you the option to resume or start from the beginning. It has one of the niftiest audiobook/podcast-capable systems out there, IMO.

dftk, thanks for the quick reply. I had thought to cancel the order if I learned, before it began being processed, that the device would not meet my needs.

I was particularly concerned about MP3 files.

Perhaps the Clip+ can resume any file, or perhaps a user can specify certain MP3s as audio books (by folder, tag, attribute, or other mechanism). I'll find out soon.

The file format/codec doesn't matter - as soon as you throw your MP3/FLAC/Vorbis/etc in the specific audiobooks folder, or use audiobook as the genre tag, it works. It's completely separate from all music content that way.
