Default Adding songs to a running playlist

Just received my Sansa Fuze and I noticed that I can't add songs to the playing Go-list when I'm browsing the files by folder-structure.

Is that possible at all or should I try a firmware-update (mine runs on V02.03.33F)?

Or is it possible to add songs from other predefined playlists to the playing (!) Go-list?

Hey congrats and welcome to ABi...

- huh, I never noticed this before. Indeed, it appears to be impossible to add songs using Folder browsing to a now playing GoList. I never noticed it before because I use ID3 db browsing.

- this should be possible AFAIK.

If you use playlists alot [as I do], then perhaps consider installing Rockbox on the Fuze at some point. You will be able to create virtually limitless playlists on the fly on the device itself, whether through Folder Browsing or via ID3 db browsing.

Rockbox uses the best on-device playlist functionality I have ever seen on any DAP player. [and the sound/EQ enhancements just happen to be amazing as well].

Consider it, though in fairness, Rockbox is not necessarily for everyone.

cheers and good luck,
-lestatar

Yeah I've already thought about installing rockbox.
But I have the same doubts I had when this problem came up with my old e280:
I've just bought my Fuze and I don't want to brick it or lose my warranty.
(Is there even a stable version for the fuze v2 already?)

Actually I'm not such a big fan of playlists. But sometimes I play music at our DIY venue and I have some "drunkard mix"-folders i use for these occasions. That's why I got so excited when i saw that the Fuze can browse files by folders.
But if I can't add the songs to the Go-List like that, this feature seems pretty useless to me.
So I guess I'll just use the well-tried solution: Every song in the same folder gets the same Album-tag...

/edit: And I tested adding songs from other playlists to the Go-List, this doesn't work either. Pity :/

Man, this would drive me crazy - the same Album Tag. I personally live and die by my ID3 tags - always have, always will. I have had remarkably few issues with any devices in this regard as my tags are always as pristine as I can make em. Simply less hassles for me, I have found. But different strokes...yada yada yada...

The folder browsing thing is great, as is true MSC style drag and drop. But unless I am listening to full albums [which usually only occur when I get/sample new music], I am a huge Shuffle/Playlist guy.

Therefore, Rockbox and Fuze [and Toshiba GigabeatF40] is an unbeatable combination.

And totally agree with EggyCuppy - Rockbox for V2 Fuze has been incredibly stable for me in the 2 months I have been using it. The USB support is the final missing link for me - cannot wait to kiss the OF goodbye for good.

the v2 fuze build is only marked unstable because it lacks USB support(you use the OF to load the player) other then that, its as stable as the OF is for me, I have had the OF get querky with buggy files, infact RB seems to be a bit less likely to freak out and lockup then the OF with rare bugged/damaged audio files.
