Default Best Speakers for 50 bucks and under

I'm basically looking for some speakers that has clear sound, sound stage quality (deep bass), no distortion at high volume and all that for fifty bucks or less. Any recommendations?

The main purpose is for music listening for my laptop.

sorry to disappoint, but such a thing doesn't exist for less than $50 unless you're going to buy used (.....maybe). Well, not by even my lowest standards anyways.

Everything ive seen in that price range is going to have weak to no bass, with harsh highs.

if you want speakers that fit the criteria you set forward you are looking at maybe $200 minimum

I'm not looking for anything fancy tho. Nothing surround sound, or 5.1 or 7.1 speakers or whatever. Just a pair of speakers to listen to music (hiphop/rnb) while on the laptop.

How about these
Sony SS-B1000 5 1/8-Inch Bookshelf Speakers

Those speakers are not amplified they require a amplifier....

nothing like you described can be had for a low price, and just because it is surround sound does not make it fit the standards you have placed forward

the criteria you have gave in your original post leads to the following that fit that being clear at high volumes and having good sound stage with accurate bass:

KRK RP6G2 Rokit G2 6-inch Powered Studio Monitor < about $200 per speaker

Dynaudio BM5A < about $500 per speaker

ADAM Professional Monitor A7 < about $600 per speaker

Those are ones that fit what you said in the orginal post , they can not be had for what you want to spend... for $50 or even 70 you can get some super crappy multimedia computer speakers, that wont have good bass or decent sound stage at all and will distort at higher volumes as well as even some listenable volumes...

Logitech and Sony offer mediocre bang for buck.
I, myself used creative T3100 2.1 speakers for a long time, with a strong bass, no distortion/very little hiss on high volumes, a tweeter, and nice overall sound, but later I wanted the 5.1 version, the t6100, which also has a bigger subwoofer (which makes my neighbours mad even at lowest stand, on reasonable volumes, I actually had to EQ the bass down in my soundcard), it is available for around your price if you look good on the web?

Actually these speakers look way better than the one you've suggested.

Don't get these... I've owned them and they were horrible :-\ The headphone jack on them went out over time and In order to get them to work I would have to hold the headphone jack in place for it to work. The bass was just too much..I guess for games only its ok, but if your going to be using these for music and movies I wouldn't get those.

Wow, if only you would've came to the thread alittle earlier. I already ordered it. Plus I'm not going to use it wit my headphones anyway. I'm mainly going to use it for the laptop. Too much bass can be a problem tho, but it depends bcuz I listen to alot of hiphop and rnb where bass is important. I'll see when i get it.

Oh, you should have said you listened to hiphop sooner. That makes all of your criteria null and pretty much anything with a sub will be fine.

Just buy good used speakers and a stereo receiver. I picked up a pair of Mission speakers for $25 at Value Village, and an NAD stereo receiver out of a scrap metal bin (in working order). That combo would have cost at least 20 times as much back in the '90s, and represents rather good value in a sound system today.

Just avoid "white van" speakers, department store house brands and other mass-market junk, and woofers with the foam surrounds rotted away.
