I can live w/out NC and speakers, but I would like to see some new 32GB models or more.

I have 20-30GB of music I listen to fairly regularly and can't fit it all on one player.

I have no need for NC, but I'm sure there are many that do. The speakers on the S are more a novelty than anything else, although in a quiet room, they'll work fine for falling asleep to.....haven't tried the alarm clock yet, but I work evenings.

For that matter, if I was to find out conclusively that the new E series wasn't buggy like the last model, I'd consider a 16GB E345 in the future too....can't have too many players, right?

I'll agree with Dreamnine that a 32GB would be sweet. I can fit my heavy rotation stuff on my S545, and there's another 10GB that I listen to often enough to keep on a player. Good thing I have 3 of them.

I'm in the same camp as you guys, 32gb is the minimum space that I require since have more than 16 gigs of music.

I will probably have to wait for the new A series.

I LOL'd when I saw that picture. Definitely not for me.

Also remember that different colors are released in different regions around the world and these might only be available in Japan.

I'm not trying to get sidetracked from the original topic, but instead of crazy colors I'd rather see Sony offer patterns or engraving like they do in Japan:

I'm liking the "bit" and "mesh" design in black.
But we wouldn't get it over here in the 'west' because they aren't deep enough in the market. I've seen nanos with similar things going on, so it's not like its a japan-ism that doesn't exist over here, its just something that isnt worth the time for sony

The engraving is nice, but 32gb will get the greenbacks. I have another S639 (thanks Matt) and it's the favorite for my tunes. I'll wait for the non-touchscreen player that's in the works, since Ascariss say's to be patient. We trust ya' bro,.....

I feel engraving is over rated ya know, like to be honest it's giving the thing a cosmetic lift when it's not needed. Besides if you RMA the next one you get won't be engraved :P

They need to make the screen better (more colors). The s545 screens sucks. Movies look like cartoons. Must be only 16bit color, what a crock.

I wouldn't know....mine's full of music. I wouldn't want to watch anything longer than 10 or 15 minutes on a screen smaller than 3 inches anyways.

I don't know about the S545. I have found on the S639F that H.264 looks a great deal better than regular mp4 (e.g. converted using FFmpeg). The mp4 was practically unwatchable, the H.264 nice and sharp.

Converting to H.264 is a little trickier, however. If using Handbrake you need to change "level=30" in the Advanced Option String to "level=13". (I think I found that information on this forum but I can't remember exactly where.)

Video podcasts look nice enough....i tried some in m4v format and the CTS loaded them on very quickly. Looks light-years better than Fuze video did

watching movies or videos on a 2.4 inch screen is just not a good idea. the 3.0 inch screen on the x is bigger but still too small if you ask me, 3.3 inch would be a nice compromise.
