Hi guys, need some advice with HD 201 :D

Hi guys .

I've just bought Senheiser HD 201 to play with my onboard Realtek ALC883 sound card < Gigabite 965p-ds3 moainboard for exactly > and unfortunately, i think my onboard sound card cant drive the HD 201, the bass is weak, and the volume is low also.

I put it on my Ipod, and everything is alots better, but most of time i will use HD 201 on my computer for gamming, movies, and musics. So, i do some search and found this forums, and i have some question to ask.

First, im considering between upgrade my onboard soundcard with Creative X-fi series soundcard for around 40-60 bucks, OR , i will buy AMP like E3 or E5 or diffs kind of Amp with price around 40-60 bucks.

So i want some advice here, which way is better for me ? I can pay more but just wonder its worth the money or not, and please dont tell me to buy another Headset, because i love this HD 201

Most everybody would tell you to get better headphones. You're right, the bass is weak, and the volume is low. Mine are collecting dust. But since you love them........

I have no experience with swapping computer sound cards, but the Fiio amps will help the 201. The E5 is the better of the 2. You can order it from http://www.dealextreme.com/

Thanks Marv, i just bought it in Brisbane Dick Smith Store yesterday, so you think i can give them back the HD 201 for my refund ? Or, the E5 will help my 201 shines alots ?

You only got them yesterday? Then yeah, try to return them. The HD202 would be much better, and wouldn't need an amp. Or the PX100, which is also great. If you can't return them, then yes, the E5 will help them.

Thanks, in the first place i want to buy the HD 202, but seem to be the store only have the 201, so i dont have much choice here, but i really love the way HD 201 look, just not the way its work

Will try return it tomorrow and will keep you guys inform

Hi guys again, i refunded my HD201 today at DSE, very fast then . So, i seached in thier shop again and only found HD 205 and HD 218, they will cost me around 100 bucks, so what is the better choice for me in this price range bettween those two and others kind of Headphone ?

What else did they have their in the shop that was in your price range?

Some Philips, Creative, and Sony, most of them are below 50 bucks, and fews of them are over 200 bucks, so in close, i think i have to chose KCS 75 , PX 100, HD 202, HD 205, HD 218 in thier shop and the Harvey Normal next to them, so, what do you think which of them is the best one with bassy ?

I prefer HD 202, maybe i will buy E5 amp also, you think its good ?
