I have an Intel based motherboard with Realtek HD audio built in to the board.
For the past month, if I use Media Monkey, WMP, DbPoweramp, anything, to rip a cd, or to transfer audio files to my e250 or my Zen M, I lose playback volume. The Master Volume slider drops to zero, and I can't raise it or adjust it with the mouse. Everything is listed as working in Device Manager, and the only way I can get sound back, is to uninstall, and install the Realtek drivers and reboot. I can't figure out what is over ruling the Realtek HD audio system. If anybody has any ideas please help. I have been working on this for over a month. I even ordered a sound card last night to see if I can work around this problem. Thanks, Lyndon Salt Lake City |

What keyboard do you have? I had a keyboard that cause weird issue with the volume.

I have a Logitech keyboard that has been great for years. It is the oldest part of my desktop. I have been reading forum talk on Realtek audio problems, but they are pretty old posts. Apparently there was a conflict with XP SP3 with Realtek's audio drivers, but I think that was resolved a year or two ago. I am going to take my tower to a friend on Saturday, and we are going to use his Abit mobo disk and put those older drivers for the audio portion of the board back in and see if that helps the problem.
