Ok, let me tell you my situation.
I have a 60gb iPod photo I fixed up and rockboxed, but rockbox lost everything related to it and my hours of converted movies for my iPod are gone. I also have a modded PSP used just for games because I only have a 256mb memstick. So I'm thinking of selling both and trying to find something that will fit my needs. I might be able to get another psp for cheap but I digress. I want the iPod touch because of the possibility of home brew and wifi internet/SDK. Flash memory bothers me, but I have this 60gb iPod photo and it only has 7gbs worth of things on it (mostly podcasts). I'd get the 8gb iPod touch and I know the differences between like the whole "oh look he has an ipod!" and like function. So I'm not worried about it. The Zune has my interest because of it's 80gb hard drive, FM, and decent screen size. I'm looking for something that can kind of do it all and the zune seems to be ok with it. But I will miss out on the games factor. I like that and the possibility of all of the things the touch could do. Or is there something else out there that would satisfy my portable wants (not needs, we don't need these things, despite how wonderful they are). I know of the Creative Zen Vision M (my neighbor has both the zune 80 and his dad has the vision m). I like the zen but not so much the interface. Anything archos has that I should be interested in? A D2 perhaps? I don't know, help me out please! |

It really depends on how important Internet is for you. The Q5w is better than anything Archos has, AFAIK. Its really a pocket-size touchscreen PC, runs on Windows CE in fact.
The D2 is an excellent multimedia device. The thing is, you can get 8 + 16gb of storage on it easily and without breaking the bank. Navigation, battery life, sound quality, video and screen size are its top winning points, IMO. I have a relatively fresh pair of X3i Rubies and frankly, after listening on an iPod, Sansa, Zune, and my computer, I wouldn't step away from the D2. The Zune 80 is an excellent device as well, it excels at all the above points, but its sound quality isn't anything to brag about. That's the sole reason I got a D2 instead. If storage, SQ, and other features aren't important, and you want internet, go with the Touch or check out Meizu.(the iPhonie... except, from what I have heard, it has better SQ and a faster CPU than the touch at nearly $100 less)

On most major boards the Zune's SQ is actually highly regarded. My personal experience confirms this: Zune trumps D2 as far as SQ. |

Q5W isn't pocketable, too big
and from all reviews I hear the Windows CE disappointed I'd recommend the Nokia N800 |
