Archos Features?

I've been looking around for a decent MP3 player with features such as, a web browser,video playback,audio playback, etc.

Originally i was drawn to the apple touch, but i happened to read some comments about flaws in the touch. And i've never honestly been drawn to apples products.

I'm requesting a comparison, with a ipod touch or your avarage mp3 player, and an archos.

Be aware that you have to pay through the nose for lots of features that are not included with any of the Archos players, but are sold as addons. You very likely have to pay at least $100-150 more to reach the feature set of, for example, a Cowon A2/A3.

Ok thanks, I'll look into the cowon also. Anything expect the ipod basically :P

Since the ipod is out of the picture. What would you recommend with archos vs the cowon?

its basically the Archos 605WiFi vs the Cowon Q5W
both have a lot of nice features, Cowon has more but also costs more

Wow, the Q5W looks pretty amazing. I'm leaning more towards cowon at this point. I don't want to be paying an extra $100 or so for the plugins and such.

Yeah, Q5W has an amazing feature and codec set.

yeah some of the early reviews are saying it might not be all perfect, but that can change
also price really is an issue, Archos charges separately not just for profit, but to make the product cheaper
the 605WiFi 80GB +DVR Sation+all extra Codecs and Plugins (except games) is still less than Cowon Q5W 60GB

I'm looking for Divx support, and a vibrant and speedy internet experience.

I know the archos has Divx support, and internet. So that seems like the logical choice.

Thanks phong, it looks like the Q5W has a few kinks to work out, seems like they all do. Including the achros.

2nice, i agree. The Q5W is vastly more expensive then the archos. If i could afford both of them i might consider them equally... but you can't buy what you can't afford.
