The very best quality 're-encoding' software I've found is - Cowon Media Center.

Just use the default settings for the SONY PSP, and you'll have files perfect for playback on the ZUNE HD.

The ZUNE HD/ZUNE Marketplace 'ecosystem' is quite well done from my perspective, and I find the integration of the two to be the best yet devised.

Sure, Drag N' Drop/MSC is nice...

My ZUNE software shows pretty much everything that's in my iTune (mac) library with no problem.

Just have the ZUNE software 'look' for the media files on your mac partition.
