I've dropped mine twice in the year and 4 months that I've had it. I don't baby it as much as you would. I just added a screen protector and keep it in its protection sleeve thing that came with it....

Yes, you can do it. That, or BADAK with the u10 definitions. I prefer BADAK simply because i've found that it works better. For dvds, i'd use iriverter.

You got that screen mainly because the mp3 player has been REALLY drained. There's nothing wrong with it. You just drained the battery to close to 0%.

I have 2.01. Never had that discharging...

this also depends on the battery though, how much you use it, and use of the menu...and i highly doubt...

I can fit about 800 songs on my 2 gig. I shrink my music to 112kbps or 96kbps. I hear no difference. If you do then you shouldnt shrink...
