just a note, you don't need custom builds anymore. just use the RockboxUtility app to install the stable firmware from rockbox.org. it includes most of the features OP was trying to incorporate.

Just did my 2nd Gigabeat > Rockbox > CF 32gb mod. writing this down so i can do it faster next time, and maybe it will help someone else. i think gigabeat is the best hardware for Rockbox.
