Yeah, I'm fairly certain that plastic is supposed to be peeled off. That's almost certainly just a screen protector for shipping purposes.

Zune Pass says otherwise. For those that like to discover new music, Zune is leaps and bounds better than iPod/iTunes. I used to own a Touch and couldn't stand it or iTunes. I'll never go back.
