If you were more adventurous, you could replace the onboard LEDs with new ones, then you could have a red/green/yellow/blue scrollwheel :)

Try re-downloading the firmware, maybe the one you downloaded earlier is broken?

The bootloader should be fine, or else the sansa might have trouble booting but if in doubt, copy a fresh .rom...

The last letter only says what country the firmware was designed for, but it has no affect on the firmware's functions. So you can install the 1.03.05P firmware on an American player.
